Friends of the Academy
When it comes to fundraising, building relationships with the community and supporting the staff team, being involved with the Friends of Byron is one of the best ways for parents and carers to get involved with Academy life.
Mission Statement
The Friends of Byron is a non-profit organisation whose membership includes all parents, carers and staff at Oasis Academy Byron. Our mission is to establish a close relationship between home and school by offering the opportunity for all parents and carers to become involved in the Byron community. The Friends raise funds for extra educational and recreational materials and experiences, support school and family social interaction, and contribute to strong links with the wider community. It is our aim to approach all of our activities in a fun, friendly and welcoming manner. We believe that the team effort of a parent teacher organisation supports the best possible learning environment for our children.

We arrange several great events each term for the children including cake sales, discos, fairs and our very successful and popular Christmas Bazaar and Summer Spectacular.
Our fundraising helps to pay for various different things for the children each year including the yearly pantomime and a Christmas present from Santa for every child in the school.
We have provided boxes of toys and games for each classroom so that the children now have new and interesting activities for wet pay days. We were also able to provide two new Buddy Benches for the infant and junior playgrounds.
We have regular, informal get-togethers, sometimes at school or sometimes out and about, and they nearly always involve cake or biscuits! Details of dates can be found in the newsletter or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/groups/FriendsByron.
We are always very happy to welcome new members, and would love to hear your ideas for different ways to raise money and of course have lots of fun, so please do get in touch or come along to our next meeting. To find out even more about the Friends of Byron please click here.
