We’re delighted to share some fantastic news from our academy!
Year 3 pupil William has been crowned the Junior World Champion (Age 7 & under) at the 2026 Daily Mail World Junior Golf Championship in Spain!
Competing against players from 45 countries, William showed remarkable composure and consistency across all three days of the tournament. After holding joint first place on Days 1 and 2, he delivered a calm, focused final round to secure the title by three shots.
His achievements didn’t stop there. Over the course of the event, William also:
- won first place for the lowest combined score on all par‑3 holes across all age groups up to 16
-
placed third in the Parent & Junior competition alongside his dad.
His family shared how proud they are of his performance, describing it as “an amazing week” and admitting that William “still can’t quite believe it’s true.”
Principal Ms J. Poplett said:
“We are incredibly proud of William for this phenomenal achievement. Winning the Junior World Championship title at such a young age is a remarkable feat. It is rare to see a pupil reach the literal top of their field globally, and they have represented our academy community with immense grace.”
“This victory is not just a testament to his natural talent on the green, but more importantly, to the dedication, discipline, and sportsmanship he has shown throughout this journey. It reminds our community that with hard work and a positive mindset, there truly are no limits to what we can achieve. We look forward to following Wiliam’s continued success in the years to come!”
This is an extraordinary accomplishment for such a young athlete, and everyone is incredibly proud of him. Congratulations to William and his family! We all celebrated him in our Rewards Assembly last week.
